Zoe Rahman Website Launch
20th December 2010

We are proud to announce the launch of Zoe Rahman’s website. Described in The Observer as “a remarkable pianist by any standard”, Zoe is at the forefront of the contemporary Jazz scene. Her album, Melting Pot, was nominated in 2006 for the Nationwide Mercury Prize, alongside the likes of Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Arctic Monkeys and Muse. It also won ‘Jazz Album of the Year’ at the UK’s first Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Miura are delighted to work with such an accomplished musician.
Our brief for Zoe Rahman was to create a polished, beautiful site where the design hints at her Bengali roots and radiates femininity. Being one of only a handful of female and Bengali contemporary Jazz musicians, these two distinctions are very important to Zoe and her brand. Zoe also wanted a feature packed site that would bring fans back to the site over and over again.
The design is based around beautiful photographs of Zoe, taken by the photographer Ilze Kitshoff. This sets the backdrop for the site, which uses traditional Bengali style fonts and colours. Femininity emanates from the photography and the script style fonts, resulting in a website that stands out from the crowd.
The website also hosts a feast of features; a music player which allows you to listen to Zoe’s music while you browse, up to date news and gig listings, a shop page where you can listen to tracks from her albums, a media page which contains videos of Zoe’s live performances, and more stunning photography and social media links that maximise traffic to Zoe’s online presence.
