Miura #WoollyHatDay campaign 2015
On Friday 9th October the global maritime welfare charity The Mission to Seafarers celebrated their annual Woolly Hat Day. Here at Miura we helped to strategically define the campaign across a six to eight week period, including all campaign collateral and an integrated social media campaign to raise awareness for this good cause.
We refreshed the annual event with a microsite featuring all the essential details and fundraising packs, which included designed posters and leaflets specifying how to get involved. We articulated visual representation of the lives of the seafarers through illustration and film, at the centre of the campaign our two troubled seafarers, Jack and Bayani, told their stories of worry and loneliness, to spread awareness and drive donations.
The campaign successfully culminated in the online sharing of woolly hat photos and awareness for the world’s seafarers. People all over the world got involved with this simple and exciting fundraising event, shared on Twitter by the most influential profiles in the shipping industry and mentioned by global companies like ELLE, even the teams at Vogue and GQ shared their woolly hat photos for the cause.
